For some reason I feel as if the countdown officially began when I got up this morning. I know it’s been coming, but tomorrow is the day when all of those day before the wedding primping appointments are scheduled. Today is the last “normal” day is what I mean.
Everything seems to be done for the wedding. I’ve checked the online wedding day planners and have meticulously gone over my own scribbled checklists, floating around at the bottom of my oversized handbag.
Last night I ran around looking for the elusive unity candles for the service. Several stores had them online but no one seemed to carry them in the stores. One more Google search and up popped Michael’s Crafts. Could it be? Yes! They had them in stock. I ran in and tried my best to quickly run out, but Michael’s is one of those places where you can’t just run in without looking around. There’s just soooooooo much to see. I left as quickly as possible, but not without a mental checklist of what I’ll be going back for. Yes, I will be making Spring cupcakes adorned by intricate flowers made of icing. Anyone can make them, ya know! Martha Stewart says so and she’s got all of the gadgets to help. Thanks Martha.
I ran to the car with my candles and the holders, started the car and quickly glanced up. Oh looky…..it’s Marshalls! One of my favorite places. I told myself that I had time and off I trotted into Marshalls. The overall purchase wasn’t too bad though. I walked out with two pairs of shoes, three blouses and one dress. Hey! I have no guilt. I needed something new for the honeymoon, right?
So, everything is done EXCEPT……the bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts. The wedding party is our children, Frank’s two boys and my two girls. Therefore the gifts are extra special and personal. Frank and I view it as a time when we can let the other’s children know how happy we are that we’ll all be one big family. This shopping task will hopefully be completed tonight so that we can present the gifts at the rehearsal dinner tomorrow. Wish us luck!!!
Tomorrow may get crazy and then Saturday is the wedding, so I’ll try my best to give updates, but may need to wait until we’re relaxing in some cafe near the water in California before I open my laptop and post some pictures. I’ll try my best though.
