During the spring and summer months, my family is all about smoothies. From what I’ve read, this seems to be the norm these days. Smoothies are everywhere. Let’s face it, smoothies are delicious and can be made to be so nutritious. There are also so many different flavors to choose from, so how could you get bored? You really can’t.
There are green smoothies with spinach or kale or both, fruit smoothies with in-season berries, coffee smoothies for those java lovers and chocolate smoothies for anyone needing their chocolate craving satisfied. Is your mouth watering now? Mine sure is.
A smoothie is a quick and easy, on the go meal, I’m definitely a person who likes the refreshing taste of a smoothie in the morning, especially in the summer when it’s hot out, but I need that smoothie to have some good hang time, so to speak. There are times when the smoothies I make are lighter and are meant to accompany a meal, like a fruit mixture to go with breakfast. However, if I need that smoothie to be the meal, that is where this protein powder comes in. There’s nothing worse than having breakfast and then being hungry again in an hour, or less. I don’t feel that way when I add in the protein.
Protein powders are as varied as smoothie flavors. In our family, we’re partial to this egg white protein powder because Hayley has to stay away from protein powders with whey in them and I’d prefer to only need to store one big jar. The egg white protein powder that I buy is also flavorless, so it doesn’t interfere at all with the deliciousness of whichever smoothie we’re making that day.
You can use this protein powder to make any of your favorite smoothies and therefore make them into a meal. Give it a try and then let me know how it goes. Below is the link to where you can buy our favorite.
